This is a Magen David with depth. Five layers of basswood, laser-cut with a filigree scrollwork pattern. Every other layer is stained, so the design has real contrast and dimension when it catches light.
I make these in three sizes. The 6-inch is right for a shelf or gallery wall. The 8-inch fills a smaller wall nicely on its own. The 10-inch makes a statement above a mantle or entry table.
Each one is cut and assembled in my Virginia studio.
